Enhance Your Natural Beauty
Facelifts have many benefits, including significantly reducing sagging skin, smoothing out creases or folds in the skin, and generally tightening up your face to give you a rejuvenated glow. In addition, facelifts last for around ten to fifteen years, giving you over a decade of a gorgeous, youthful complexion before you may consider having another procedure done. Individuals suffering from sagging, drooping skin and having realistic expectations for their ideal complexion make good candidates for facelifts. Typically, facelifts are provided to individuals in their forties or older but are also available to younger individuals. You may benefit from a less invasive procedure if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have underlying medical problems. Talk with your primary care doctor or schedule your consultation with Dr. Santosa today to find out the best method of care for you.
Lifting your skin and your spirits
A facelift is a procedure where facial skin and muscle are gently pulled upwards towards the scalp to give a tighter, younger look. This is done by making incisions near the hairline and ears and tightening the skin to eliminate the sagging skin in the lower face. Facelifts allow for natural-looking, tighter skin that leaves you appearing years younger.

Dr. Santosa provides both mini facelifts and neck lifts and full facelifts. Dr. Santosa can even perform some of these procedures with local anesthetic instead of general anesthesia! However, the anesthetic need is based on your treatment plan. Local anesthetic allows for the patient to be awake during the procedure but not able to feel anything except light pressure. As a result, Dr. Santosa ensures that her Atlanta facelift patients achieve realistic and natural-looking results without the additional risks of full anesthesia.
Helping you Reach Your Goals
During your consultation, your provider will be able to give you an official list of things you should avoid before your procedure. Generally, our Atlanta facelift patients should avoid smoking, blood thinners, vitamin supplements, caffeine, alcohol, and refined sugars in food for at least a week before their procedure.
For patients who are candidates for these procedures under local anesthetic:
When you arrive for your procedure, the doctor will begin cleaning the skin, where incisions will be made. A local anesthetic will then be administered. This numbs the entire area of treatment to allow for a painless experience. Once numbed, the incisions will be made in the hairline or near the ears, as you and Dr. Santosa will discuss during your consultation.
For patients who are candidates for these procedures under general anesthesia:
You will arrive at a surgery center on the day of your facelift procedure, where you will meet Dr. Santosa again. She will review your goals and surgical plan and mark out your incisions for the procedure. Regardless of the type of anesthesia, you will have for your surgery, Dr. Santosa gently manipulates the skin, muscles, and fat to achieve the desired look. Incisions for mini face or neck lifts will be much smaller. Once she is done shaping your skin, Dr. Santosa will pull the skin tight before closing and bandaging the incisions.
We’re with you every step of the way
After your facelift, you will experience some swelling and the feeling of bruising. This is expected and should drastically decrease within a few weeks and be almost entirely gone after about six weeks. After your procedure, you will be advised to avoid smoking, drinking, caffeine, strenuous activity, unhealthy foods and drinks, and excessive movement. You should take it easy and get lots of rest during the first week after your procedure. You will receive a follow-up with Dr. Santosa within 24 hours of your procedure to ensure that everything is going smoothly and you aren’t going through this new experience alone.
You should return to moving and walking around to keep a healthy blood flow. Keep your head elevated for the first month after your procedure, and avoid laying on your face. Make sure not to touch the incisions to prevent irritation and infection, except for gently cleaning them with warm water and a non-irritating soap in the shower twice a day. After about two weeks, you will be ready to return to social settings looking your best. Your full results will appear about six months after your procedure and last about ten to fifteen years.
Maintenance For Lasting Results
Facelifts only affect the tightness of the skin and don’t treat any spots or blemishes, so taking care of your skin and body is still crucial for maintaining the best long-lasting results. Dr. Santosa provides supplements for bruising and lymphatic massages that help decrease recovery time. She will get in touch with you often, and post-op follow-ups will allow for full patient support and ample opportunities to voice questions or concerns. Since incisions are made to perform the facelift, scarring may be present. However, due to the careful placement of the incisions, the scars will be minimal and almost, if not entirely, concealed in the hairline.
Facelifts can potentially cause scarring and hair loss around the incisions made. They can also cause a hematoma, infection, or nerve damage in severe cases. Your doctor or medical provider will inform you how to best take care of your body after a facelift to reduce risks significantly.
Facelift costs can vary greatly depending on the individual patient and procedure. Prices can range anywhere from $7,000-$25,000. Many often get multiple procedures or treatments done alongside a facelift, such as a lip lift or blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), making it challenging to offer a more accurate cost. During your consultation, Dr. Santosa’s team can answer any questions about price or financing. Since a facelift is not medically necessary, it is not covered by insurance.
